On the 9th of February, Wednesday, India reported 71,365 new cases of the Wuhan virus (COVID-19.)

The cases are declining with every passing day, and have been reduced to 8,92,828 active cases to date. Besides the new Wuhan virus cases, India registered 1,72,11 recoveries and 1,217 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The Union Health Ministry confirmed the updated figure on the morning of the 9th of February. Moreover, the updated data is available on the official website of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.)

With this, India currently has over 4.23 crore positive cases, of which 8,92,828 are active cases, 5,05,279 deceased cases, and 4,10,12,869 recovered/discharged cases. The cases and new figures of the Wuhan virus were confirmed after conducting 15,71,826 tests conducted in the past 24 hours, reported the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR.) With this, till date, India conducted a total of 74,46,84,750 tests conducted today.

In addition, the current recovery rate in the country stands at 96.70%, active case at 2.11% and the fatality rate is below 1.19%.

However, states like Maharashtra, Kerala and Karnataka continue to register the maximum number of Wuhan virus cases, contributing 40% of the total active cases in the past 24 hours.

Moreover, as of now, India has administered 170.87 crore vaccine doses till date.
