The Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Department of Telangana, released guidelines and Standard of Operation (SoPs) for the establishments and shops during the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. 

The additional SoPs and guidelines would be imposed in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limit to contain the spread of COVID-19. 

The issued guidelines are for Annapurna Canteens, sanitation, grievance redressal, enforcement and other social security aspects of people. The Telangana Government asked the GHMC officials to ensure Annapurna canteens offering hot and hygienic meals for Rs. 5, provide dinner facility and dispense with collection of even token fee from the beneficiaries, increase the number of meals and revise the timings of serving.

The officials were asked to focus on provision of food to people of night shelters and orphanages. 

The GHMC officials were also asked to ensure sanitation at vegetable markets, weekly markets, meat stores and at establishments selling essentials during the lockdown. High Priority should be given to notified slums and places where migrant workers are residing.

In addition, all the commercial establishments should keep sanitisers, maintain social distance. The GHMC officials would monitor the situation and would make sure every establishment and individual are following all the guidelines of COVID-19 and lockdown in Telangana.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on the 12th of May, announced a 10 days lockdown. The decision was taken by K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, to control the spread of the Novel Coronavirus.

The imposed lockdown would continue till the 22nd of May.
