To mark the 75th Independence Day, the Union Government announced to conduct a remarkable 75 days drive, organising free booster doses for eligible people, across India.

Under the special vaccination drive, people between the age group of 18 years old to 59 years old, would get a free booster vaccine dose against the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Central Government decided to launch the drive, aimed at improving the third dose coverage against the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)  Notably, to date, only 1% of the target population, 77 crores (18-59 age group) have been administered the precaution dose.

In addition, the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) approved the reduction in the duration gap between two vaccine doses and a booster dose.  Previously the duration gap was 9 months, which now has been reduced to 6 months.

Meanwhile, the special drive would begin from the 15th of July, Friday.
