Digvijay Singh, the former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh (MP) and a leader of the Indian National Congress (INC) tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

The news of Mr. Digvijay Singh being COVID-19 positive was confirmed by his tweet. On the 16th of April, Digvijay Singh took to Twitter and said, “My COVID-19 test report has come out positive,” “मेरी कोविड जाँच रिपोर्ट पॉज़िटिव आयी है। फ़िलहाल अपने दिल्ली निवास पर क्वारंटीन में हूँ। कृपया इस दौरान मेरे संपर्क में आए सभी लोग खुद को आइसोलेशन में रखकर अपनी सेहत से संबंधित सभी सतर्कता बरतें।”

In addition, he said he is currently quarantined at his home in Delhi. His tweet read, “Currently, I am in quarantine at my home in Delhi.” He also requested the people who came in contact with him to get their COVID-19 test done.

With this, two senior leaders of the INC tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus. On the morning of the 16th of April, Rajdeep Surjewala, an INC leader took to his Twitter handle and said, “I have tested positive for COVID-19 today morning. Anyone who has come in contact with me in the last five days, please self-isolate and take necessary precautions.”

The report of INC leaders contracting the virus came at a time when India is reporting a massive rise in the COVID-19 cases. The daily surge of COVID-19 cases in India increased to 2.17 lakhs, taking the total active cases to more than 1.40 crores. In addition to this, active cases stood at 15 lakhs.

With this, India also surpassed Brazil and became the second worst COVID-19 hit Nation. The first worst COVID-19 hit Nation is the United States of America (U.S.A.)
