The daily cases of the Wuhan virus are rising constantly in India, taking the active cases tally to over 1 lakh mark, on the 30th of June, Thursday.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) released the data and confirmed 18,819 new cases, 39 fatalities, and 13,827 recoveries in the past 24 hours.  With this, India currently has 1,04,555 active cases, with a rise of 4,953 cases in the 24 hours.  This is the first time in the last 122 days, that India saw over 1 lakh active COVID-19 cases.

With the data revealed at 8:00 A.M.on Thursday, India has a total tally of 4,34,52,164 Wuhan virus cases, of which 4,28,22,493, are recovered/discharged cases, 1,04,555 are active cases, and  5,25,116 death cases, till date.  The new cases were confirmed after conducting 4,52,430 sample tests for the Wuhan virus, taking the tally to over 86 crores to date.

Furthermore, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 4.16 percent and the weekly positivity rate at 3.72 percent, according to the ministry.  In addition, the active cases comprise 0.24% of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate is at 98.55% with a 1.21% fatality rate. 

Concerned about the rise, many states called for mandatory mask-wearing in public and urged people to abide by the Wuhan virus protocol.

Meanwhile, under the nationwide vaccination drive, India administered a total of over 197 crore vaccine doses.
