In a shocking incident, an Indian Air Force Hawk aircraft crashed in Mayurbhanj district in Odisha. The incident occurred during a routine training after taking off from Kalaikunda airbase in West Bengal. Fortunately, the pilot in the aircraft managed to eject safely.

Eyewitnesses stated the plane went up in flames after crashing on the banks of Subarnarekha river. Inspector in Charge of Jharpokharia Police Station Sarat Kumar Mahalik said the pilot successfully ejected from the aircraft shortly after the crash.

The fire brigade and the police team rushed to the spot immediately after the crash. Sources revealed the Indian Air Force has called for a court of inquiry regarding the accident.

A rescue team from Kalaikunda was sent to the location of the crash in a helicopter. Once the pilot safely got out of the crashed plane, he was sent to a hospital in a helicopter.
