Mr. Y.V. Subba Reddy, the former Chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) took the oath as the TTD Chairman again.

On the 11th of August, Mr. Subba Reddy was sworn in as the 51st TTD Chairman for a straight second term. The special oath taking ceremony was organised inside the Tirumala Tirupati Temple on Wednesday morning.

On the 8th of August, the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy led Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government nominated Mr. Y.V. Subba Reddy as the TTD Chairman for a second time. Later, he was elected unopposed and became the TTD Chairman. The appointment of Mr. Y. V. Subba Reddy in 2019 was by the new YSRCP Government. His two year term ended on the 21st of June 2021, following which the TTD Chairman post was vacant.

After the end of Mr. Subba Reddy’s two year tenure, the YSRCP President and the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy renominated his maternal uncle as the TTD Chairman.

Meanwhile, with the reappointment of TTD Chairman, the TTD members are hoping to get a second term at the famous Lord Venkateshwar Temple.

The nomination of the members is expected to be done by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister in a span of a week.
