In Andhra Pradesh, the ruling government led by the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Gudivada Amarnath demanded a central inquiry against the Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

In his urge, the YSRCP leader said, the State (Andhra Pradesh) and the Central Government should conduct an investigation against the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) over pegasus spyware software allegations.

On the 19th of March, the YSRCP leader said, Ex CM Chandrababu Naidu used pegasus spyware during his tenure (2014-2019.)   He asked the Center to investigate the case, whether the software was purchased for industrialists or politicians.

Ms. Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal alleged that the previous government of Andhra Pradesh, the TDP, purchased spyware from Pegasus.

However, Mr. Nara Lokesh denied these allegations and said, spyware was offered, but the Nara Chandrababu Government refused to sell Pegasus spyware in the State.  He also said, “She (Ms. Mamata Banerjee) was misinformed.  If we had resorted to such things, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy would not have come to power in 2019.”

The YSRCP asked for an investigation in the matter.
