Mr. Alluri Krishnam Raju, the former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s Konaseema district, Razole constituency, passed away on the 12th of July, Wednesday night.

According to sources, Mr. Alluri Krishnam Rajy, 83 years old was a leader of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) in Andhra Pradesh.  He was suffering from age related ailments and took his last breath on Wednesday night at his apartment in Madhapur, Hyderabad.  

Highlighting the political career of Mr. Alluri Krishnam Raju, he started his MLA career with the INC.  In 1999, he contested for the MLA seat as the candidate of the INC but was defeated by A.V. Suryanarayana Raju, a  leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP.)  Later, he again contested with the YSRCP ticket and won the Assembly seat of Razole constituency.  He  served as a legislator from Razole from 2004 to 2009.


Mr. Alluri Krishnam Raju is survived by wife and three kids, son Srinivas Raju, and two daughters, Krishna Kumari and Vijaya.  Their son has established himself in the field of business and industry.

Meanwhile, speaking of the last rites, the mortal remains of Krishnam Raju would be brought to his residence in Sakinetipalli.  As informed by Razole MLA Rapaka Varaprasadarao, the last rites will be performed with official honors at the cemetery in Somepalli in the afternoon of the 13th of July.
