The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government extended the YSR Aarogyasri Aasara scheme to cover another 683 new illnesses.

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, decided to extend the benefits of the scheme for additional diseases.

The crucial decision was taken for the beneficiaries of YSR Aarogyasri Aasara scheme.

The number of treatments given during and after treatment under the YSR Aarogyasri scheme would now include gynaecology, pulmonary, diabetic foot, and dengue fever.

Anil Kumar Singhal, the Chief Secretary of the Medical Health Department, has issued orders to this effect on the 31st of December.

In the past, the State Government provided financial support of Rs. 225 to Rs. 5,000 for those taking treatment for 836 diseases. The financial allowance ranges from a minimum of Rs. 1,575 for a seven day rest to Rs. 10,000 for a 60 day rest of the beneficiary.

However, now another 683 treatments have been added with the total number of treatments under the scheme at 1,519.

For those who are recovering at home after receiving any of these treatments, the money would be deposited in their bank account immediately.

To get the benefits of YSR Aarogyasri Scheme, beneficiaries need to link their Aadhar Card to their bank accounts.

Nearly 76.10 % people of Andhra Pradesh are being treated under the YSR Aarogyasri scheme. Earlier, the Arogyasri card was available only to those who have a White Ration card.

However, now the Andhra Pradesh Government extended the benefits to people having an annual income not more than Rs. 5 lakhs.

With this, more than 95 % of the families in the State are under Aarogyasri in the State.
