YS Sharmila Detained In Hyderabad Amid Protest Against TSPSC Paper Leak Matter

The Telangana Police detained Ms. Y.S. Sharmila, the President of the YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP.)

According to sources, the police arrested Ms. Y.S. Sharmila and the party workers when they were trying to lay siege to the office of Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) in Hyderabad.  Notably, on the 31st of March, Ms. Y.S. Sharmila, called for a protest against the TSPSC in connection with the recent paper leak matter.

Amid the detention, tension prevailed at the TSPSC office, especially after a clash broke out between the YSRTP supporters and the State Police.

To control the situation, the police stopped the protesters and asked them to disperse.  Furthermore, despite warnings, when Ms. Sharmila continued her protest, the Women police personnel bodily lifted Sharmila and shifted her to a waiting police vehicle. 

Other protesters were also detained by the police and were taken to the Hyderabad Police station.

Notably, this is the second time Ms. Y.S. Sharmila called for a protest and demanded a Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) investigation into the TSPSC Paper Leak scam.
