On the 5th of June, the World Environment Day, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh would launch a platform for waste exchange.

The online waste exchange platform under the Andhra Pradesh Environment Management Corporation (APEMC) would manage the waste produced by industries and factories in the State.  The APEMC would regulate waste from the industries which generate significant quantities of liquid waste, hazardous and non hazardous solid waste and air pollutants.

The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) proposed the APEMC for the same, especially for the factories in Red and Orange zones for the spread of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said these issues need to be addressed, hence the YSRCP would launch an e platform for waste exchange and making the waste management sector/market more organised.

The APEMC would work as a government company to handle waste from its start of generation until the end of its life cycle.

The APEMC will work in close coordination with the AP Pollution Control Board (APPCB) with a strong regulatory framework to handle the waste and decompose it scientifically.

The APPCB would make the necessary provisions for industries to hand over the waste generated by their units to APEMC.

Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy would launch the platform around 11:00 A.M., on the 5th of June.

Stay tuned for further updates.
