Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) is set to inaugurate oxygen plants in the Telugu State.

The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government is to set up 133 press swing adsorption (PSA) oxygen plants worth Rs. 426 crores in Andhra Pradesh. Set up at government hospitals, the oxygen plan inauguration would be conducted virtually, from the YSRCP Office in Tadepalli, A.P. In addition, the State Government is set to launch 10 more PSA oxygen plants, to take the tally to 144 plants in the State. The combined capacity of these plants is 1.2 lakh litres per minute, which could support about 25,000 patients at a time.

The decision to do so was taken as a part of precautions, taken to tackle the possible third wave of the Wuhan virus. Considering the shortage of oxygen, during the second wave of the Wuhan virus, the Andhra Pradesh CM launched oxygen plants, to ensure they have sufficient amounts of oxygen.

These oxygen plants would play a key role in providing treatment to those affected by the pandemic, especially when the nation is witnessing a new variant, Omicron.

Meanwhile, with 1,257 fresh Wuhan virus cases, the total tally of the virus is at 20,81,859 in the Telugu State.
