Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, would release the Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Scheme amount.  

The new scheme, Jagananna Vidya Deevena,  was launched in 2020.  Under the scheme, approximately 12 lakh poor students are getting the benefit of free higher education.  An amount of Rs. 15,000 to 20,000 per year, depending upon the degree, would be credited directly to the bank accounts of the student’s mothers in Andhra Pradesh.  Nearly 12 lakh bank accounts are registered which would get the amount.  Students pursuing Polytechnic, Degree, Engineering, and Other PG Courses are eligible to apply for the scheme. 

On the 8th of April, Friday, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy is scheduled to visit Nandyal and release the scheme for beneficiaries in the State.  Under the second tranche for the 2021–22 academic year, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government would deposit Rs. 1,024 crore in the accounts of students’ mothers.  Approximately 10,68,150 students and mothers would receive the amount in 2022.  

The launch of the second instalment of the scheme would be held during an event, organised at Nandyal SPG ground.  After disbursing the amount, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would address a public meeting.

It is to be noted, under the Jagananna Vidya Deevena, Chief Minister Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy deposited Rs. 709 crore as full fee reimbursement for the October-December, 2021 quarter.
