Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, who is on a tour to Konaseema district, on the 13th of May, Friday, launched money for a welfare scheme.

During the visit, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) President Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy launched the fourth phase of the YSR Matsyakara Bharosa Program.  

Under the programme financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 would be provided to fishermen’s families in the State.  Furthermore, under the scheme, a diesel subsidy of Rs. 9 per litre for boats would be given and assistance of Rs. 10 lakh would also be given to the fisherman families if the breadwinner dies in the State.

The welfare programme was launched in  Muramalla of I Polavaram Mandal, Konaseeema, Andhra Pradesh. According to sources, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy left from Tadepalli at 9:40 A.M., and reached Muramalla Venue at 10:45 A.M.  At the venue, he addressed the public gathering, following which released the fourth phase of the scheme and disbursed the money.

Under the fourth phase, approximately 1,08,755 people would get the benefits, for which the YSRCP Government released an amount of Rs. 109 crores.   In addition, another Rs. 108 crore would be provided to another 23,458 fishing families in Konaseema and Kakinada districts who lost their livelihood due to the ONGC pipeline.

It is learnt that the compensation of Rs.70.04 crore has been provided to 14,824 affected fishing families in the past.
