Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (AP,) on the 15th of October, launched the YSR Rythu Bharosa scheme, also known as the PM Kisan scheme, in Nellore.

Under the new YSR Rythu Bharosa scheme, the eligible farmers of Andhra Pradesh were provided a cheque of Rs. 13,500.  They would continue to receive the amount on a monthly basis on behalf of the State and Central Government.

On the 15th of October, Jagan Mohan Reddy launched the scheme at Vikrama Simhapuri University in Kakturu, Nellore.  Later, he also paid tribute to late Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s portrait at the inauguration of the scheme, as the day also marked Students’ Day.

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy reached Nellore in his private chopper and visited the University’s stalls, which were organised by various Government departments.

After paying homage to the statue of Y.S.R. Rajasekhara Reddy, the former CM of AP and Jagan Mohan Reddy’s father, Jagan lit a candle and distributed the cheques to the farmers.

Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) ministers, Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs,) Members of Parliament (MPs) and other officials attended the launch event.
