The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government in Andhra Pradesh  disbursed the fifth tranche of ‘YSR Matsyakara Bharosa’ scheme funds.

On the 16th of May, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, released the funds of Rs. 10,000 to the accounts of beneficiaries.

The scheme was introduced by the YSRCP Government to benefit the fishermen’s families during the ban on sea fishing.   Notably, under the YSRCP Government, the 15th of April to the 14th of June every year has been announced as the ban period for fishing in the region.  The ban on fishing was part of conservation measures during the breeding season of the prawn and fish species.  All the fishermen should observe the ban strictly in order to have good catches during the post ban period and to sustain fishery wealth for the future.

Under the scheme, approximately 1,23,519 fishermen would get the benefits through this scheme.   During the ban period, the disbursed amount would be helpful for the fishermen and their families, and would help with expenses for 2 months.
