Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) on the 12th of May, conducted a review  meeting regarding the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 infection.

During the meeting, Mr. Reddy said, “There is a need to eliminate fears and concerns about the virus; officials have to give high priority to this issue.”  In regard to this, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy urged the village voulanteers to create awareness about the disease and ensure social distancing in their respective areas.

The meeting was organised a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted video conference with all the chief ministers of India, to discuss the COVID-19 infection.

During the meeting, Jagan Mohan Reddy emphasised on the need to eliminate all the fears of the Novel Coronavirus and raise awareness of the same. 

Many ministers including Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan appreciated the perspective of Mr. Reddy.   

Jagan Mohan Reddy also highlighted the numerous cases of discrimination with the COVID-19 patients and asked officials to take measures and avoid such discrimination.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister , Minister of Health, Alla Nani, CS Nilam Sawhney, DGP Gautam Sawang, Special Chief Secretary of Medical Health Ministry KS Jawahar Reddy and other senior officials of the government consultant Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy.

Meanwhile, the State reported 33 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus taking the number to 2,051 with 46 deaths till the 12th of May.
