Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, inaugurated the works of Bandaru Port works in Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

On the 21st of May, Monday, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy visited Machilipatnam, where the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) workers and leaders made an elaborate arrangements.  With this development, the long pending dream of the people of Machilipatnam is coming true, with the construction works, which started today.

The people of Machilipatnam celebrated the same after Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy performed Bhoomi Puja in Tapasipudi region. 

After the ground breaking ceremony, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy addressed a public meeting.  During the briefing, the Andhra Pradesh CM said, “Chandrababu has committed extreme betrayal and grave injustice to Machilipatnam in regard to the Bandaru port.”  He further said, “The dream of Machilipatnam people has come true with start of Port works.”

Later, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy slammed the opposition the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and said they have been hurdle for the enhancement of Machilipatnam, “A medical college is being constructed at a cost of Rs. 550 crore and added that the entire official machinery in Bandaru after (the) YSRCP came to power.  CM Jagan hoped that the port would be constructed in the next 24 months.”

Furthermore, for the Bandaru Port construction, the State Government has estimated the cost of the first phase at Rs. 5,235.48 crores.   Of this, the Power Finance Corporation has consented to sanction a loan of Rs. 3,940.42 crore, which is 75% of the total estimated cost. The state government will be spending the remaining amount and building two general cargo berths, one multipurpose berth and one bulk cargo berth.
