In Andhra Pradesh’s Pedana region, a woman died during the public meeting of Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

According to sources, the woman, identified as Sammeta Rama Manikyam, a resident of Devarapalli village, went to attend the public meeting of Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.  Notably, on the 25th of August, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy released the fourth tranche of the YSR Netanna Nestham, a welfare scheme for the weaver community of Andhra Pradesh.

During the event, Sammeta Rama Manikyam felt sick and was rushed to the hospital in a state run 104 ambulances.  However, she was declared dead by the doctors at a government hospital.

Upon hearing about the news of Sammeta’s death, Mr. Jogi Ramesh, the Housing Minister of Andhra Pradesh, expressed condolences and informed the same to Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.  

Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed grief and ordered the District Collector to announce Rs. 10 lakh ex gratia to the kin of the deceased woman.   In addition, Mr. Jogi Ramesh went to the victim’s village and consoled the family members and handed over the cheque for Rs. 10 lakh ex gratia, announced by the ruling Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP.)
