The funeral ceremony of Mr. Mekapati Goutham Reddy, the Andhra Pradesh Information Technology (IT) Minister, was held with full state honours.

On the afternoon of the 23rd of February, the final rites were held at Mekapati Engineering College, after a massive procession from Nellore to Udayagiri. Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, and other Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Ministers and other political leader attended the funeral ceremony of the late Minister.

Earlier, people in large scale participated in the funeral procession that began at 6:00 A.M., from Nellore to Udayagiri.

The people and the fans have mourned over the death of their leader.

The Information Technology Minister of Andhra Pradesh Mr. Mekapati Goutham passed away on the morning of the 21st of February, Monday. The 50 year old Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Atmakur died due to a cardiac arrest.
