On the 22nd of December, the Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) Police registered a complaint against a man who allegedly raped a mentally ill woman in a village of Chittoor district, A.P.
According to the FIR, the 35 year old man, who was staying at his relative’s residence in Chittoor, sexually assaulted the woman. The incident took place on the evening of the 21st of December when there was no one present at the woman’s residence.
The victim’s husband approached the Police the next day, the 22nd of December. The husband said his wife was on medication as she is suffering from mental illness issues for the last four years.
The A.P., Police registered a case under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and launched an investigation for the same.
