On the 17th of January, Tuesday, Visakhapatnam-Kirangal Passenger Train derailed in the Visakhapatnam district, Andhra Pradesh.

The South Central Railway Department officials confirmed the incident and said, “The Visakhapatnam-Kirandal passenger train derailed near Kashipatnam in Visakhapatnam district on Tuesday leaving a bogie overturned.”

However, as the loco pilot alerted and stopped the train, a major accident was averted, leaving no one injured and with no casualty.

Meanwhile, due to the derailed train, all the other trains in that route have been diverted and halted.  In addition, the railway officials made arrangements to restore train traffic at the incident site and are working to remove the train.

Furthermore, the cause of the derailed train is said to be extremely cold weather and fog, but an investigation into the matter has been launched.
