On the 24th of August, officials of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) and Andhra Pradesh State Road Transportation (APSRTC) conducted a review meeting.

The meeting was held at Bus Bhavan in Hyderabad. The main agenda of the meeting was to discuss the resumption of bus services between the two Telugu states.

The APSRTC officials from Vijayawada reached Hyderabad for the meeting which was attended by the Managing Director of the TSRTC.

The points to be highlighted in the meeting include the number of buses to be operated, guidelines to be followed amid the pandemic crisis.

The bus services between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were suspended after the Central Government announced a nationwide lockdown on the 22nd of March.

After relaxations in the lockdown, the Andhra Pradesh resumed bus services to Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Odisha.

However, no buses were operated between the two Telugu states, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

The meeting was organised after the Telangana government decided to make an agreement on the bus services to Andhra Pradesh.

The Government said that TSRTC has been incurring losses with no agreement between AP and Telangana during the bifurcation of states.

The meeting was earlier scheduled to be held in June but was postponed after employees in Bus Bhavan, infected with the coronavirus.
