Breaking the communal barrier, a Muslim couple donated Rs. 1.02 crores to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) temple. 

On the 20th of September, Tuesday, Abdul Ghani and his wife Nubina Banu, presented a cheque of Rs. 1.02 crores to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam authority for Lord Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.  

According to sources, the couple, who are from Chennai, met with Mr. A. Dharma Reddy, the Executive Officer (EO) of the TTD at Ranganayakula Mandapam at the temple premises.  The couple then handed over the cheque to the TTD EO.   Notably, of the total amount, Rs. 15 lakhs are for the Sri Venkateswara Anna Prasadam Trust, which provides free food to thousands of devotees visiting the temple every day.    In addition, the remaining amount would be for the new furniture and articles in the kitchen at Sri Padmavathi Guest House. 

It is to be noted that Abdul Ghani, a businessman from Chennai has made donations to the TTD temple in the past also.   In 2020, Abdul Ghani donated a multidimensional tractor mounted sprayer to spray disinfectants at the temple premises during the Wuhan virus (COVID-19) pandemic.  In addition, earlier also, Abdul Ghani donated a refrigerated vehicle valued at Rs. 35 lakh, to the temple for transporting vegetables.

The Lord Venkateswara TTD Temple is one of the wealthiest temples in India.  Many businessmen, politicians and devotees offer prayer at the TTD Lord Venkateshwara Temple and donate money and other objects.
