Tension prevailed in Kuppam after the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) cadres got into a physical fight.

On the 25th of August, Thursday, the YSRCP cadre called for a bandh against the visit of Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the TDP President, to Kuppam.  The YSRCP workers also said, they would block the visit of the TDP Chief for the second day.  Due to the protest, the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) buses within Kuppam are also confined to the depot. 

In addition, the State Police also deployed teams of personnel, set up barricades at many places in the town to prevent any untoward incident. 

Meanwhile, to make Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s visit a huge success in Kuppam, Mr.Pulivarthi Nani, the Chittoor Parliament President of the TDP has called for support from the TDP cadres.   In regard to this, the TDP workers, leaders and supporters reached Kuppam to stop the YSRCP cadres from blocking Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s vehicle and make his visit a success.  Due to the concerning situation, the TDP cadres and the YSRCP cadres got into a fight, especially in the Ramakuppam region, where the YSRCP cadres are taking out rallies.
