Hyderabad: Telangana’s political landscape witnesses another significant shift as Rajendra Nagar MLA Prakash Goud announces his departure from Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) to align with the Congress party. Goud, having solidified his decision, met with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Thursday to convey his intention to join the Congress ranks.

Sources close to the development suggest that Goud’s formal induction into the Congress fold is imminent, likely to be completed within the span of two to three days. This move follows a series of defections from BRS, with prominent figures such as Danam Nagendar, Kadiyam Srihari, and Tellam Venkatrao already making the transition to the Congress.

CM Revanth Reddy’s earlier statement hinted at the potential exodus from BRS, indicating that the party would face a significant depletion should he choose to open its doors to incoming members. Goud’s decision underscores the shifting dynamics within Telangana’s political arena, with Congress poised to strengthen its position while BRS faces challenges in retaining its members.
