Reacting to the constant protests and criticism of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organised a counter-protest in Hyderabad.

According to sources, the K. Chandrashekar Rao led TRS Government is conducting ‘Deeksha’ in Delhi. In view of this, the Telangana BJP unit also organised a massive protest at Indira Park in Hyderabad.   The day long Deeksha has been organised by the BJP’s Kisan Morcha.  The BJP Kisan Morcha demanded the TRS Government to either open procurement centres and start purchasing paddy or resign.

Mr. Gujjala Premender Reddy,  the State BJP General Secretary and Kisan Morcha in charge called for the ‘Deeksha.’  The Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs Mr. V. Muralidharan would take part in the protest against the TRS Government.  In addition, Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the Member of Parliament (MP) of Karimnagar and Telangana BJP President, Ms. D.K. Aruna, the BJP National Vice President, Dr. K. Laxman, the BJP Other Backward Class (OBC) Morcha National President and BJP Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs,) general secretaries and cadres also participated in the ‘Deeksha.’

The agitation between the TRS and the BJP led Central Government is continuing for over six months and now has intensified at a national level.  Both the political parties are playing the blame game, asking each other to purchase the paddy from the farmers of Telangana, and also providing the minimum support price (MSP.)
