Atchannaidu, the State President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) was released on the 9th of February from jail.

During the early hours of the 2nd of February, K. Atchannaidu was arrested by the Andhra Pradesh Police in relation to a threatening case. K. Atchannaidu was alleged to have threatened the ruling Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP,) candidate for the sarpanch position, K. Appanna.

The arrest was based on a telephonic conversation, which was leaked and is all over social media platforms. In the leaked conversation, Mr. Atchannaidu threatened K. Appanna.

In regard to this, K. Appanna filed a case against K. Atchannaidu, resulting in his arrest. He was registered under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC.)

Initially, Mr. Atchannaidu was in Kotabommali police station and later shifted to Ampolu sub jail.

The TDP president Atchannaidu was released from the Srikakulam District Jail after being granted bail.

The Srikakulam District Sompeta Additional District Court granted bail to K. Atchannaidu and 22 TDP leaders in a threatening case filed against him.

Being emotional on his release and arrest, Mr. Atchannaidu said he has been booked in an unrelated case and suggested to give priority to the system over individuals.

Mr. Atchannaidu was asked to pay a bail fine of Rs. 50,000 as security and is not allowed to leave the State until the verdict.
