Sidda Raghava Rao, a former member of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) on the evening of the 10th of June, joined the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP.)

Mr. Raghava Rao joined YSRCP in the presence of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) at the YSRCP camp office in Tadepalli, A.P.

The event was a low key affair with the presence of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and a few senior leaders like Ministers Balineni Srinivas Reddy, Adimulapu Suresh and Vellampalli Srinivas.

The leaders maintained social distancing during the event and wore face masks in the wake of the pandemic crisis, the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy welcomed Mr. Sidda Raghava Rao into the YSRCP by offering him the Party’s scarf. 

Sidda Raghava Rao addressed the media and expressed happiness at joining the YSRCP.  He said “Everyone is looking at the welfare schemes being implemented in the state and we look forward to more such schemes in (the) upcoming days.”

Mr. Sidda Raghava Rao  was one of the strongest leaders of  the TDP from Prakasam district and his quitting could be a major drawback for the TDP in the municipal elections which are yet to be held.

Speaking about the reason to switch parties, Sidda Raghava Rao was impressed with the activities and welfare schemes launched by the YSRCP Party and wanted to work for the people of A.P.
