TDP Leader Narayana Arrested Over Irregularities In Amaravati

Mr. Narayana, the former Minister and leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has been arrested by the Andhra Pradesh Police, on the 6th of June, Monday.

According to sources, Mr. Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Mngalagiri, filed a complaint to the Additional Police (AP) Crime Investigation Department (CID) about irregularities in the design of the capital Amaravati Master Plan and Inner Ring Road. 

The complaint was registered on the 27th of May, alleging irregularities in the Inner Ring Road design during the reign of the TDP Government, between 2014-2019.

After a detailed inquiry, the Andhra Pradesh Police and CID confirmed the allegations, including a fraud that had taken place, and filed a charge sheet on the 5th of June, Sunday. Later, on Monday, the TDP leader Mr. Narayana was arrested from his residence.

Besides Mr. Narayana, the CID has registered a case against former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and the National President of the TDP Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu, former minister Mr. Narayana, Mr. Lingamaneni Ramesh, Mr. Lingamaneni Venkata Suryarajasekhar, the Director of LEPL Project and Ramakrishna Housing Pvt Ltd Anjani Kumar.

The case was booked under Sections 120B, 420, 34, 35, 36, 37, 166, 167, 167, 217 of the IPC as well as Section 13 (2) Read with 13 (1A) of the Anti-Corruption Act.

Meanwhile, after the arrest of Mr. Narayana, the TDP Working President Mr. Nara Lokesh and Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu condemned the arrest and slammed the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government.
