Mr. Nara Lokesh, the National General Secretary of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) lashed out at the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP,) the ruling Andhra Pradesh Government.

On the 3rd of September, Mr. Nara Lokesh slammed the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSRCP Government for stopping Anna Canteens’ functioning across the State. 

Mr. Nara Lokesh said, the State Government is stopping the distribution of food to the poor by Anna Canteen in Tenali and other regions.  However, he would raise voice against the injustice and vowed to continue the Anna Canteens, despite hurdles by the State Government.  Addressing the media, Mr. Nara Lokesh said, the YSRCP leaders obstructed setting up temporary Anna Canteens at Kuppam, Mangalagiri and Nandigama.   He also condemned the recent attacks and heavy deployment of police force at the market complex in Tenali, to stop Anna Canteens. 

It is to be noted, an Anna Canteen was opened in Tenali region by the local TDP leaders on the 12th of August, which was later shut down by the YSRCP workers, amid government orders.  Officials of the Tenali Municipal Corporation served a notice to the TDP, asking to close Anna Canteen.
