On the 11th of December, Saturday, the mortal remains of Lance Naik Saiteja would be moved to his native village in Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district.

Lance Naik Sai Teja was amongst 11 Commanders of the Indian Air Force (IAF) who died in the 8th December’s Tamil Nadu IAF Helicopter crash. Lance Naik Saiteja is from Yegua Regada village of Kurabala mandal in Chittoor. He joined the Bengaluru Regiment of the Indian Army in 2013 and was trained as a para commando. Later in 2020, he joined the personal staff of the CDS.

Lance Naik Saiteja’s mortal remains were identified after conducting a DNA test, which is now being airlifted via Bengaluru. The last rites of the IAF officer would be held either on the 11th of December or the 12th of December in Regadipalli village, Chittoor.

Addressing the media, Lance Naik Saiteja’s uncle said, the last rites will be performed either today or tomorrow following the weather conditions and other factors.

Meanwhile, the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy led Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government in Andhra Pradesh, announced an ex gratia of Rs. 50 lakh to the family of Naik Sai Teja. Mr. Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy handed the cheque to the family.

Lance Naik Saiteja is survived by his wife Ms. Shyamala, daughter Darshini and son Mokshgna.
