In a major development in the YS Vivekanada Murder Case, the Supreme Court, issued orders and formed a new special investigation team (SIT.)

According to sources, the Apex Court decision came after the constant delay of investigation.  Now, the investigation would continue under the leadership of Keshav Ram Chaurasia, the Deputy Inspector General of the Central Bureau of Investigation.

The Supreme Court ordered the court trial to start within six months and said the accused can appeal for bail if probe not started. The CBI has said that they will complete the investigation by the 30th of April.

Notably, in 2019, Mr. Vivekananda Reddy, the uncle of Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, was stabbed to death at his residence in Pulivendula.  The major reason behind the murder is said to be the 2019 Assembly elections, in which Mr. Vivekananda Reddy was contesting on the YSRCP ticket.

The matter is still under investigation and has been transferred to the CBI Hyderabad.
