In Andhra Pradesh’s Nandyal town the residents of the  Sramadan Colony staged a protest demanding to resolve the drinking water problem in the region.

According to sources, the residents alleged that the officials are turning a blind eye to addressing the drinking water problem in the colony.  It is to be noted, in the Sramadan Colony people are suffering from drinking water problems regularly.  The protest started on the 14th of December, Wednesday in front of the village ward secretariat.

According to sources, the residents were getting water only once a week, that too for an hour, which was causing them trouble with the drinking water issue.   In addition, the residents were getting water in odd hours, including nights.   Despite several requests to the concerned authority, the officials did not take any initiative to resolve the issue.

The residents urged the Andhra Pradesh Government officials and the leaders concerned to address the problem being faced by the residents permanently.
