Mr. Somesh Kumar, the former Chief Secretary of Telangana, finally accepted his transfer to Andhra Pradesh and said he would take any responsibility given to him.

Recently, the Union Department of Personnel and Training (Government of India) relieved Mr. Somesh Kumar from the duties of the Chief Secretary of Telangana and shifted him to Andhra Pradesh.  Although the Central Administrative Tunnel (CAT) in Hyderabad opposed the orders and issued a stay on it, the Telangana High Court (HC) quashed the CAT stay orders and asked Mr. Somesh Kumar to report to the Andhra Pradesh cadre, on the 12th of January, Thursday.

According to sources, Mr. Somesh Kumar arrived in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh on the morning of the 12th of January, Thursday.  He addressed the media and said, “As an officer, I am following the orders of DoPT and will report to CS Jawahar Reddy.”

When asked about the voluntary retirement scheme (VRS) proposal, Mr. Somesh Kumar said that he is yet to take a decision in this regard and would soon decide after discussing it with his family.

Meanwhile, in Telangana, after Mr. Somesh Kumar, the K. Chandrashekar Rao led Government appointed Ms. A. Santhi Kumari as the Chief Secretary of the Telugu State.
