Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) on the 6th of February, launched the official website to book seeds through Rythu Bharosa centres.  He also unveiled the logo for the Rythu Bharosa centres in the State.

The launch of the website would help farmers purchase seeds from the Rythu Bharosa centres at the minimum support price (MSP) fixed by the Government.

Jagan Mohan Reddy also conducted a review meeting with the concerned officials of the Agriculture Department and discussed the various issues related to agriculture in A.P.

The major topics discussed during the meeting were agri mission, purchase centres and MSP for farmers of Amaravati.

Jagan Mohan Reddy said, “The Government has to intervene if a farmer is paid less than the fixed price for the crop and make sure that the farmer doesn’t face any loss.  Officials have to ensure that the farmers are getting money soon after the sale of the crop. For effective implementation, proper marketing mechanisms have to be adopted and required manpower should be deployed at the procurement centres.”

Ministers Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose, Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, Kurasala Kannababu, Anil Kumar Yadav, Kodali Nani and Chief Secretary of A.P., Nilam Sawhney attended the meeting.

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also instructed the officials to keep a price chart at all the secretariats and Rythu Bharosa centres across A.P.  He also asked the officials to meet farmers and discuss the weekly prices of crops with them.

Mr. Reddy said, “The Agriculture Department has to own the Rythu Bharosa Centres and marketing officials are supposed to pay special attention to godowns and cold storages till the establishment of new ones. Farmers are expecting quality seeds and it is our responsibility to supply them. Officials have to make sure that irregularities do not take place in the supply of seeds.”

The Andhra Pradesh CM concluded the meeting and directed all the concerned officials of the Rythu Bharosa centres to create awareness among farmers regarding the Rythu Bharosa centres.

Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) ministers, government officials and others were present during the launch event.
