Political parties like the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) the JanaSena Party, the Indian National Congress (INC) and other opposition parties extended support to Amaravati farmers, protesting against the ruling Government.

On the 14th of December, Tuesday, farmers received a grand welcome from opposition parties in Tirupati.  The cadres of all the opposition parties took part in the  Maha Padayatra and raised slogans against three capitals.  Leaders like Mr.N. Amaranatha Reddy, Mr. Pulivarthy Nani, Mr. G. Narasimha Yadav, Mr. M. Suguna, Mr. N. Kishore Kumar Reddy, Mr. R.C. Munikrishna and others participated in the Padayatra from Ambedkar statue opposite RTC bus station and welcomed the farmers.

In addition, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)  leaders like Mr. G. Bhanu Prakash Reddy, Mr. Samanchi Srinivas, Mr. Santha Reddy, Mr. Gundala Gopinath, Mr. A. Munikrishna, Mr. Viswanath and others also took part in the Padayatra.  

Speaking about JanaSena leaders, Mr.Pasupuleti Hariprasad, Ms. Kiran Royal, CPI leaders Mr. Ramanaidu, Mr. Radhakrishna and Mr. C. Penchalaiah also participated in the rally at the Ambedkar statue. 

The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) working president Mr.  N. Tulasi Reddy, Mr. Mangati Gopal Reddy, Mr. P. Naveen Kumar Reddy and leaders of various associations including the Bar Association have also joined Amaravati farmers and expressed their solidarity.

It is to be noted, farmers of 29 villages of the Amaravati region, who had given 33,000 acres of land for the development of the state capital, have been protesting for more than 750 days now.  They are now sticking to the protest and would continue until the State Government officially withdraws and announces to have only one capital, Amaravati.
