The Andhra Pradesh police seized 1,020 bottles of liquor at Andhra Pradesh-Telangana border.

On the 22nd of June, Vakul Jindal, the Additional Superintendent of Police (SP) of Krishna district , A.P., said, “Cases have been filed against 10 persons who are illegally transporting liquor from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh. Three vehicles are seized at a border check post near Jaggaiahpeta. A total of 1020 liquor bottles are seized.”

The additional SP said 10 people were doing llegal transport of liquor.

The Andhra Pradesh Police also said, people transporting Gutka, Ganja, sand and other such things illegally would be punished under relevant section of the Indian Penal Code.

Recently, the Andhra Pradesh Government, announced to take strict action against those involved in sand mafia and liquor transportation illegally.

Giving details about the seize today, Vakul Jindal said, “1020 liquor bottles worth Rs 1,29,360 are seized in Jaggaiahpeta circle today. One Tata ace, one auto and one motorcycle have been seized. Stern action will be taken in cases of illegal transport of liquor. Such persons will not be spared. Punishment for them is increased to eight years.”

The State Government also announced punishment such as eight years of imprisonment and heavy penalty for such crimes.
