Taking offence to the comments of Mr. Ayyanna Patrudu, The East Godavari District Police Officers’ Association demanded an apology.

On the 25th of November, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Mr. Ayyanna Patrudu made derogatory remarks against the Andhra Pradesh Police, claiming that they (police) work according to the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government. He also used filthy language and insulting remarks against the police. Taking offence to the TDP leader’s comments, Mr. Satyamurthy, the District Police Association president and Mr. Y.P.K. Srinivas, the Secretary of the Police Association of East Godavari, addressed the media and spoke about the incident.

During the interview on the 25th of November, Thursday, the Police Association demanded a public apology and strict action against the TDP leader. Mr. Satyamurthy said, “Ayyanna Patrudu should speak wisely towards the police. His words were worse than the language used by street Rowdies.” Addressing the media, the police association said, Mr. Ayyanna Patrudu used the police services while he was in power and now he is abusing the police.

Concluding the press meet, Mr. Satyamurthy and Mr. Y.P.K. Srinivas requested the State Government to take action against Ayyanna Patrudu immediately. They also demanded a public apology to the police and warned that private cases would also be filed against him.

The YSRCP Government and Mr. Ayyanna Patrudu are yet to respond to the demand of the Police Association.
