In Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam, unidentified people pelted stones and broke window of the Vande Bharat Express Train on the night of the 11th of January, Wednesday.

In this case, the Visakhapatnam Police arrested three people identified as Goshala Shankar (22,) Taketi Chandu and Peddada Rajkumar (19.)  It is to be noted, of all the three accused in the stone pelting incident, two are said to have a criminal record.  Goshala Shankar is a fraud and has four cases registered against him, Taketi Chandu was said to have connection in a murder case.

On the 12th of January, Mr. Siraknth, the Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner, said, the

Railway Protection Force (RPF) examined the footage of the CCTV cameras installed on the coaches of the Vande Bharat train.  After scrutinising the CCTV footage, they arrested the three people.

The Vande Bharat Express, set to be flagged off on the 15th of January, came to Visakhapatnam on the 11th of January evening.  After it arrived, the three accused started stone pelting and broke the window of the new Vande Bharat Express train.

After initial investigation and interrogation, Goshala Shankar confessed to his crime and said he was under the influence of alcohol, whereas the other two Taketi Chandu and Peddada also supported Goshala in the stone pelting.

A case has been registered against the three accused and an investigation is underway.
