Ms. K. Uma Maheswari, the fourth daughter of the former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. N. T. Rama passed away here on Monday, the 1st of August.

Ms. K. Uma Maheswari, the youngest among 12 children of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder took her last breath at her residence in Hyderabad amid prolonged illness.

According to sources, the Jubilee Hills police suspected her death to be a suicide, as they found Ms. Uma Maheswari’s body hanging from a ceiling fan, on the 1st of August.  It is suspected that due to the prolonged health issues and illness, Ms. Uma Maheswari might have had depression and decided to end her life.

The police have registered a case and shifted Ms. Uma Maheswari’s body for an autopsy.

Highlighting Uma Maheswari, she was the youngest of four sisters. Notably, former Union Minister and BJP leader Daggubati Purandeswari and TDP President and former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s wife Nara Bhuwaneswari are her well-known sisters.

Chandrababu Naidu, his son Nara Lokesh and other family members rushed to Maheswari’s residence.

Uma Maheswari’s brother popular Tollywood actor and TDP legislator N. Balakrishna and other family members who live abroad have been informed about the sudden demise of Uma Maheswari.
