In Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam district, nine workers were injured in an accident at the Steel Melting Point-2 wing at the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.

The incident occurred on the 11th of February, when a ladle carrying liquid steel slipped on the ground, burning the conveyer belt.

Although no casualty was reported, nine workers, including District General Manager, two permanent employees and six contract workers received injuries.  The injured were identified as Srinu, Bangaraiah, Anil Biswal, Suri Babu, Jai Kumar Pothaiah, Eshwar Naidu, Appala Raju and Sahu. 

All the injured people were taken to the Visakhapatnam General Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the trade union leaders demanded an investigation into the matter and also asked for compensation for those injured.
