On the 17th of April, Monday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) Court, reviewed a petition filed by Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

The court reviewed the petition filed in the 2018 Kodi Kathi (knife attack) and heard the arguments of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and the NIA, which probed the matter.

It is to be noted, on the 25th October 2018, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, then the President of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP,) was attacked at the Visakhapatnam Airport.   The NIA probed the matter and arrested the accused Srinivasa Rao.  Initially, a restaurant owner Harshavardhan was also named in the matter.  However, the NIA officials revealed that Harshavardhan had no involvement in the incident, and the accused Srinivasa Rao acted alone on personal grounds.  Getting into the details, the accused Srinivasa Rao, a follower of Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, attacked him with a knife, to help him gain sympathy of the citizens.  The NIA also cleared that there is no conspiracy by the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) into the Kodi Kathi attack case.

Despite the investigation report of the NIA, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy filed a petition, seeking in depth investigation and claimed conspiracy against him.  Reacting to this, the NIA sought time to make its arguments against the filed petition, and demanded the court to dismiss the petition.

After hearing arguments of lawyers, representing the NIA and AP CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the court adjourned the matter to next the hearing, on the 20th of April.
