Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has intensified its efforts to bolster its ranks through “Operation Akarsh.” In a significant development, Unnamatla Eliza, the sitting MLA from Chintalapudi assembly constituency, tendered his resignation from the YSRCP and formally joined the AP Congress.

This move marks a notable shift in political allegiance and underscores the growing momentum behind the APCC’s recruitment drive. APCC president YS Sharmila Reddy extended her support and called upon him to assume responsibility for the constituency.

The decision to switch parties came amidst changes within the YSRCP, as Eliza was replaced by Khambam Vijayaraju. This development, understandably, left Eliza disheartened, prompting him to distance himself from the YSRCP temporarily.

Expressing his discontent with the party’s decision, Eliza voiced his concerns regarding the perceived injustice meted out to him. His decision to raise his voice against the party signifies a growing sentiment of dissent within the YSRCP.

As Eliza aligns himself with the APCC, his entry into the party marks a significant addition to its cadre.
