Vijayawada: Minister Gummanuru Jayaram tendered resignation to his ministry, MLA post here on Tuesday. Jayaram announced that he decided to quit YSRCP opposing the attitude of CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Jayaram addressed a media conference and alleged that Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and Dhanunjaya Reddy become priests and diverting Jagan Reddy. He alleged that Jagan is reading the script drafted by Sajjala.

“CM YS Jagan asked me to contest as Kurnool MP. I’m unhappy with the proposal and decided to quit YSRCP. I will join TDP and contest as MLA from Guntakal of Anantapur district which is my place of birth,” Jayaram said.

Expressing agony, Jayaram said, “I have worked for almost 12 years to strengthen YSRCP at root level. People at Aluru constituency are emotionally connected to me. I served as MLA for two terms and minister for the last 5 years. Deeply hurted by the acts of a few leaders which drive me to take this decision.”
