On the 12th of December, a massive explosion took place in a Hyderabad based chemical factory.

Nearly 11 workers were shifted to a hospital and are undergoing treatment.

The explosion occurred at the industrial development area in Bolarum on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

While 11 people are injured, many are feared trapped.

Four fire engines rushed to the spot as thick fumes were seen after the explosion inside Vindhya Organics, at Sangareddy.

V. Srinivas, the Divisional Officer of Sangareddy said, “The fire erupted in the factory supposedly due to the explosion of a reactor.  We are trying our best to prevent the fire from spreading to other areas.”

He further said, the situation inside the factory couldn’t be ascertained immediately as it was difficult to enter premises.  We are making attempts to go in while dousing fire gradually (sic.)”

In addition, the number of workers trapped inside would be known after examining the duty chart.

Officials are also evacuating workers from adjacent factories.

More details of the incident are awaited.
