In Andhra Pradesh, a shocking incident of an attempt to murder was reported in the Guntur district.  Tulasi Rao, an obsessed lover allegedly slit the throat of his partner Fathima, suspecting fidelity.  After the attack, the accused allegedly ran and is currently absconding.  Furthermore, a case has been registered with the Guntur Police, under the relevant section of the Indian Penal Code (IPC.)  

Meanwhile, Ms. Vasireddy Padma,  the Andhra Pradesh Mahila Commission Chairperson, on the 15th of April, visited Fathima (the victim) at the Guntur General Hospital (GGH) and consoled S.K. Fathima’s family.  During her visit, Ms. Vasireddy Padma interacted with the family members of Fathima and inquired about the incident.  She even tried to speak to the victim, but she couldn’t speak due to injuries to the throat.  As per the GGH doctors, they have performed surgery that lasted for five hours and said that Fathima is out of danger and is in stable condition.  

Furthermore, Ms. Vasireddy Padma assured to take up the matter with Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, and do justice to Fathima.  She also said the Guntur Police have formed a special investigation team (SIT) to investigate the matter and nab the accused.

The investigation into the case is underway.
