J.C. Pavan Reddy, a Member of Parliament (MP) candidate of the Anantapur constituency, on the 20th of March, filed his nomination to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh.

Pavan Reddy reached the Returning Officer’s office in Anantapur with members and supporters of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and submitted his nomination papers.

On the 7th of March, N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (AP) and the President of the TDP, welcomed Pavan Reddy to the Party. Naidu further announced, Pavan Reddy will contest the Lok Sabha elections in Anantapur, on a TDP ticket.

Mr. Reddy submitted his nomination papers around 11:00 A.M., following which, the Party members celebrated and organised a rally.

J.C. Pavan Reddy is the first TDP member to file his nomination. Pavan Reddy, a new youth leader of the TDP, is the son of J.C. Diwakar Reddy, who is the current MP of the Anantapur district.

J.C. Pavan Reddy was elected after Diwakar Reddy announced he is quitting active politics and will not contest the Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

Andhra Pradesh will contest a total of 25 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled to be held on the 11th of April.

The major parties contesting the Lok Sabha elections are the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP,) the JanaSena Party and the TDP.

The results of the Lok Sabha elections will be announced on the 23rd of May 2019.
