After the recent vacant post of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC,) the Indian National Congress (INC) got another blow. 

On the 1st of January 2021, Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy of the INC is all set to join the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)

The decision of Mr. Reddy came at a time when Uttam Kumar Reddy, the former Chairman of the TPCC resigned from the post.

After the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections’ results, Uttam Kumar Reddy resigned.

Owing to the responsibility of the poor performance of the INC with just 2 seats out of 150, Mr. Reddy gave up his post. 

Meanwhile, confusion over the TPCC Chief post continues with top names like Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Revanth Reddy and other senior leaders in the race.

According to sources, Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy visited Tirumala temple and offered prayers.

During the visit, Mr. Reddy addressed the media and hinted to join the BJP. He also said, “brothers can have different opinions and his brother would stay in Congress.” He also said, the BJP is the only alternative in the State after the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.)

It is noted, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy is a member of the INC and a potential candidate for the TPCC Chairmanship.

Meanwhile, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the President of the BJP in Telangana said, a few INC and TRS MLAs are in touch with him. He said around 25-30 TRS MLAs are in touch with him. BJP MP has made it clear that they are not adopting any undemocratic approach on this issue.

Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy is the sitting Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Munugode constituency in Nalgonda district is all set to join the Saffron party.

However, an official announcement is yet to be made.
